Congratulations to Folklorico Dance Company, in which two of our very own SAMAHAN members are a part, for their successful debut performance at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall on June 24.

Congratulations and a big hearty welcome to Dianne O'Connor--the recipient of the Corazon C. Aquino Scholarship for the incoming class of 2005.  Diane hails from Queens and is a graduate of St. Francis Prep.

UPCOMING EVENTS

FIND DIALOGUE (October 26 - 28)
***Clear your calendars now.

$25 registration deadline is September 21.
Register online now!

SAMAHAN will request $$$ from the school to subsidize the cost for people who would like to stay in a hotel for the weekend.  This is a long three-day event, and a hotel stay is not only warranted, but is necessary in order to have the optimum experience.

The event's official hotel is:
Sheraton Long Island Hotel Smithtown
110 Vanderbilt Motor Parkway
Smithtown, New York 11788
(631) 231-1100

The cost for a room is $139 (triple or quad).  If we were to bring a delegation of 16 people, we would get 4 rooms.  The amount we would request from the school is $400 - $500.  The balance of the cost, depending on how much CMSV grants us, is to be divided by the participants.

SAMAHAN would like to request your strong support and involvement to show the other delegations that a vibrant Filipino community is involved here at The Mount.
