Every year CMSV attracts some of the finest Filipino students. The Filipino population is very much an asset to the Mount community.
Many of the current members of SAMAHAN are recipients of the Corazon C. Aquino Scholarship, which is a very competitive full tuition grant given by CMSV in honor of the former President of the Philippines, her excellency Cory Aquino (CMSV '57).
Our SAMAHAN members are also active in CMSV's many other organizations. They take on leadership roles in Residence Life, varsity sports teams, The Honors Program, and various off-campus organizations such as FAHSI and Folklorico.

CONSTITUTION
The organization of SAMAHAN is simple: an Executive Board and General Membership.
I. GENERAL MEMBERSHIP
A. Membership to this organization is non-selective. All CMSV and Manhattan College students are welcome. Members are expected to pay dues (If necessary), attend general meetings, and most importantly participate in SAMAHAN events.
B. All members are encouraged to pursue ideas and programs they may have that are compatible with the mission of this organization. Members can take it upon themselves to plan and follow through a program using SAMAHAN's assistance, but they must understand that SAMAHAN will only match the amount of effort that member puts in.
C. The SAMAHAN website will be used as a way to network all members and to use this medium as the forum for all ideas. No idea is too great nor too small. They are all worth looking into and this website will provide SAMAHAN members a chance to entertain their ideas and hopefully and ultimately realize them.
II. EXECUTIVE BOARD
A. All members on the executive board are equal. This board will delegate among themselves what their duties will be for each project on the agenda. The executive board will be solely responsible for programming and seeing these programs all the way through.
B. As per budget issues and organizational changes, the executive board will try to come to a consensus. If they cannot come to a consensus, then the executive board members vote up and down and a tie will be broken by the adviser's vote.
C. Executive Board members attain their position by the mere desire to be part of this core group. Any general member can be on the Executive Board if they willingly take on more responsibilities for SAMAHAN. Executive Board members retain their position in this organization by a vote of confidence by the General Membership. A vote of no confidence will result in that Executive Board member to be demoted.
